Location: Louisville, KY

Salary: $80-$95K annual base

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Piping Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and layout of piping systems in various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and technical specifications. This role involves collaboration with other engineering disciplines to produce efficient and effective piping solutions for oil and gas, chemical processing, and HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed piping designs and layouts using 3D modeling software.
Create and update P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) to reflect system modifications.
Produce isometric drawings and construction documents for piping installation.
Conduct stress analysis to ensure the integrity of piping systems under operational conditions.
Select appropriate materials for piping systems based on project requirements and industry standards.
Perform pipe routing and layout to optimize space and facilitate installation.
Coordinate with project management to ensure timely delivery of design documents.
Ensure compliance with ASME standards and relevant design codes during the design process.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate piping systems into overall project designs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred
Proven experience as a Piping Designer in the oil and gas, chemical process, or HVAC industries.
Proficiency in 3D modeling - AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks, CADworx
Strong knowledge of P&ID, isometric drawings, and engineering drawings.
Familiarity with stress analysis techniques and methodologies.
Understanding of ASME standards and materials selection for piping systems.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
